Pedro Arrupe (1907-1991) was superior general of the Society of Jesus from 1965 to 1983. As such, he led Jesuits and the Ignatian family in a creative response to Vatican II, exploring how the signs of the times could provoke a renewal and deepening of the original inspiration. This course will look at his life, his activity as General, and at some of his more important writings. What do they have to say to us today as we try to imagine our future?
